• The Peak Route and the Schlucht pass: 80km, half the path in the forest: the Peak Route offers an incredible range of magnificent landscapes: lakes, mountains, ballons (rounded peaks), passes, rocks, meadows and forests. You will certainly appreciate the sumptuous panorama of Hohneck and Grand Ballon parks, and the diversified mountain flora. The Route starts 30km away from Colmar and goes down south to Thann where it meets the Vineyard Route.

• Downhill skiing

Domaine de la Mauselaine : 40km of downhill skiing runs, including the longest run of the Vosges (4km), only 2.5km from city center. Free shuttles service in season during holidays and week-ends.

Domaine de la Bresse-Hohneck: the largest ski area of the East of France is accessible by car (10km from our hotels)

• Cross-country skiing

Domaine des Bas Rupts : 100km of runs close to the Domaine de la Muselaine to practice cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the forest..

• Musée Faune Lorraine : 500m from the Carrefour du Saut des Cuves
• Musée du textile : 1.5km from Ventron, to discover the textile industry
• Casino : the Casino du Lac has slot machines, roulette poker and blackjack tables. It is situated a few meters from the hotel de la Paix and the Beau Rivage.
• Cinéma : one renovated cinema in the casino premises and a theater hall in La Maison de la Culture.
• Skating rink, bowling, swimming pool, 8 tennis courts, climbing wall, table tennis, volley ball ... : a few steps from Beau Rivage hotel.

• Shopping :

• Linen : Gerardmer is the linen capital. You can use your free time to visit outlet shops and stores (Le Jacquard Français, Linvosges, Garnier-Thiebaut, Textiles de Granges sur Vologne, Blanc des vosges-François Hans...).
• Local products and handcraft : discover traditional products from the Vosges: honey and jams, fabrication of the famous muster Gerome cheese, Eaux de vie, stone leather and wood handcraft, lace, enamels...at the « Association des Artisans du Village de Liezey ». Handcraft, delicatessen and cheese, pine tree honey at « La Maison de la Montagne » in Gerardmer. Fermented fruit drinks, flowers and plants at « Petits Crus Vosgiens » in Gerardmer or at « Cuvees Vosgiennes » in La Bresse.Clogs at « La Saboterie des Lacs ». Traditional candy craftsmanship and tasting at the « Confiserie des Hautes Vosges » in Plaifaing.

• 13^th of July : Popular dance and St John fire

• 14^th of July : Fireworks shot from Locle wharf

•  14^th of August: Féerie du Lac, a free show about the lake with great firework and musical animations.

• Gerardmer triathlon : An exceptional event for high-level athletes. From the 3^rd to the 6^th of September, many competitions occur: Triathlon Distance Olympique 5eme edition (with the famous « Escape to Alcatraz Triathlon Series »), Triathlon XL and the Discovery and TriKids versions for children. DO program: 1.5km swimming, 10.5 km running and 39km cycling. XL program: 1.9km swimming, 39km cycling and 21 km running.

• Festival du Film Fantastique de Gerardmer : it is organized every last week-end of January.

• Rencontres du Cinema: this event takes place by the end of March in the Casino du Lac, a few meters from Beau Rivage and Hotel de la Paix. About twenty movies are projected. You can meet many actors or directors during public premieres. For real passionate!!

• Fête des Jonquilles (Daffodils): next one in April 2011. Don’t miss this exceptional event that occurs every two years in Gerardmer! Floats made of millions of flowers. A sumptuous parade to celebrate spring...Popular dance, guinguette, brass bands, folk groups...
